Curriculum

The educational program of SIS follows the curriculum set by the International standards and uses high quality textbooks from America.
This basic program is expanded and enriched at every level enriching the student with exceptional learning opportunities. English and Japanese are major academic subjects and are presented in sequential manner beginning in pre-school up through all grades, levels. It will emphasize the Cognitive, Social, physical and Emotional development of the child.

Aptitude of staff
The Sophia International School has carefully selected the teachers from all over the world. All of our teachers are University Graduates and have relevant qualifications for teaching in various fields like English, Japanese, Mathematics, Science and Music.
Pre-School
This program is aimed at the 2 year old child. It will introduce the child to social skills necessary to settle down and get along with other children in a classroom environment.
Kindergarten
This program is aimed to meet the need of the 4~5 years old child. The learning activities lay the foundation needed for success in the more academic atmosphere of first grade. We have daily practice lessons for English and Japanese. Mathematics, Reading, Science, Physical Education and Handwriting are also part of the curriculum.

Grade 1 to Grade 6 (Primary School)

A basic and enriched academic curriculums is provided that fosters a love for learning and enables the child to expand his/her horizons as far as possible. The curriculum meets and surpasses that which is required by the International standards. Daily practice of Japanese, English and memorization as well as reading and writing are the main features of this grade. Homework in all subjects is an integral part of the curriculum.
